Department of Orthopedics & Spine Surgery, Government Medical College Anantnag, established with the inception of Government Medical College Anantnag in 2019, has emerged as a dedicated center for comprehensive orthopedic and trauma care in the region. The department is committed to providing quality patient care, academic excellence, and advanced surgical services. The department is presently staffed with one Associate Professor, three Assistant Professors, one Senior Consultant, five Senior Residents, and is recognized with five Postgraduate seats, contributing significantly towards undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training. The department provides round-the-clock emergency, trauma, and orthopedic services, ensuring uninterrupted management of accident victims, emergency cases, and critically injured patients on a 24×7 basis. The trauma and emergency services remain functional throughout the year with highly dedicated faculty members, residents, nursing staff, and paramedical personnel. The department performs a wide spectrum of orthopedic procedures, including trauma surgeries, joint procedures, arthroplasty, sports injury management, and complex spine surgeries. Advanced orthopedic care and various specialized surgical interventions are being provided under the PMJAY scheme, making quality healthcare accessible to a larger population. With its dedicated workforce, expanding infrastructure, and patient-centered approach, the Department of Orthopedics & Spine Surgery continues to strengthen its role in delivering advanced orthopedic care, academic growth, and specialized surgical services in the region.
